Based in Gifu Prefecture, Ms. Nakashima creates her amazing little treasures at her home studio.
All of her work is very small but they work so beautifully for use with many things.
She specialises in mini tea ceremony items which are perfect for use outdoors and great for traveling with.
When I met her for the first time she was making tea in a lovely park, it was so peaceful and beautiful.
Because she studied the Japanese tea ceremony she has a vision for the utensils she likes to use in her ceremony.
Depending on the items she wants to create she goes to the mountains to collect clay and by using her own graze mixes and different firing methods she is able to create truly unique items.
I simply fell in love as you can imagine…
